If your 2002 Chevy Tahoe is anything like mine, it has a dirty little secret. Hiding behind the glove box is a factory amplifier. It’s good for powering the stock 8 inch sub you have in the back, but it’s robbing you of lows in the front 4 speakers. You see, there is a cross over in the amp that sends all the lows to the sub and splits them out of the front four speakers.
In my case, I replaced all four speakers and the factory sub and added my own amp. Problem is, with the way I wired everything, that factory amp was still in the mix. With this fix, you can bypass that factory amp and get all the correct sound you should be getting from your aftermarket sub. Check out the video to see how I did mine.
NOTE: If you have Bose, your system is different, if you have a 2004 or newer, your system is different. Do your due diligence to figure out the best procedure for your vehicle.
